Barn Owls Facts

Is there anywhere in Miami where I can buy a Barn Owl? And are Owls counted as animals for the ExoticPetTrade?
I loved owls since I was young and obviously I’m an animal lover. I really wanted a Barn Owl as a pet, and take good care of it, tend to all its needs and even let its “wild side” come out if you know what I mean. I’m totally fine with the fact of owning a Barn Owl, but I’d like to know where I may get one and if they are part of the horrible orginanization: Exotic Pet Trade that sells unusual pets like tigers, lions, etc. I wouldn’t want to support that group by adopting a Barn Owl and therefore would be pleased to know if Owls are in that group. Thank You!
I think you need to consider the fact that Barn Owls don’t make very good pets. They require a specialist diet, and would need to be kept in a huge aviary, which would be very expensive to build. Another thing to remember, is that owls are predatory birds, with very sharp talons, and they are capable of injuring even the most experienced handlers.
Another issue is, it is illegal to own raptors of any kind unless you are a licensed falconer.
